A REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT

We have come a long way since 1999 when we prayerfully considered how we might share our church building with the people of Copnor. We’ve had vital support from others, for which we are grateful. Many thought we wouldn’t get this far, but we have worked and prayed together and seen amazing things happen. God has always given us what we needed at the right time. He has been faithful to us in his provision: now it’s our time to work faithfully with him to finish the job.
It’s time for us to create the inspirational Place of Worship so many long for.

We have now generated 95% of the £4.2million to complete this unique and widely acclaimed church project.

God has given us an exciting vision of a Place of Worship integrated with a Centre for Health & Healing.

IT’S OUR TIME NOW

To work together to complete the final phase of the project by:

• Creating a new entrance to the building on the Lichfield Road side of the building at an estimated cost of £60,000.

• Creating a new “No frills” Place of Worship in the remaining one third section of the church at a cost in the region of £170,000.

See "Design for the Future" in the Galleries to see how this space will be transformed.

HOW WILL WE COMPLETE THE VISION?

We have been advised that the Entrance & Gardens may attract some grant funding but there is very limited scope of grant funding for the Place of Worship. The plans for a dedicated Community Café will be put on hold and initially will operate at the back of the Church.

Therefore in May 2010 we are launched an appeal to raise the remaining of £130,000 to complete the Church, with the intention of beginning the final phase of construction as soon as possible. The process of design, obtaining planning consent, and appointing a builder has been achieved: the only thing missing is the final amount of funding to pay for it.

Update – August 2011

An Appeal to St. Cuthbert’s Congregation raised £95,000 and a House to House Collection in the parish during 2010 raised a further £2,309.45. This together with funds already raised has given us the confidence to work towards placing a contract to put in hand a package of work in the Place of Worship during the second half of 2011

COMPLETING THE PLACE OF WORSHIP REMAINS A MAJOR CHALLENGE, BUT IF WE WORK TOGETHER WITH GOD IT IS WELL WITHIN OUR GRASP!

THANK YOU for your prayers & support.
